Active drivers, including company and independent contractors, with a fully certified CDL and actively available for load assignment/dispatch for a minimum of 75% of the contest period, which runs from August 12th, 2024, until December 15th, 2024, are considered Eligible Driver Participants (EDP’s). This includes local, dedicated, regional and all advanced fleet over the road drivers meeting the minimum criteria of an EDP. CDL Pad trainers, examiners, shuttle drivers, mechanics, technicians and casual drivers, recruiters and recruiters with CDL certification are not eligible. This contest is only intended to reward revenue producing drivers in the Wilson fleet, regardless of the division assigned.
$25,000 net (after tax deductions) prize to be awarded to one (1) EDP that refers, and Wilson certifies, as a new or rehired A seat driver during the contest period. The EDP with the highest number of accumulated points during the contest period, at or above a minimum number of six (6) points, will be awarded the first place Prize. An Independent Contractor awarded this prize level will receive a gross payout amount of $25,000 X 1.25 or $31,250. This gross amount will appear on the IC’s 2024 1099. If a winning Independent Contractor elects to have the $31,250 spread across several weeks of making the tractor lease payment, we will also accommodate that request.
$15,000 net (after tax deductions) prize to be awarded to one (1) EDP that refers, and Wilson certifies, as a new or rehired A seat driver during the contest period. The EDP with the second highest number of accumulated points during the contest period, at or above a minimum number of four (4) will be awarded the second-place prize. An Independent Contractor awarded this prize level will receive a gross payout amount of $15,000 X 1.25 or $18,750. This gross amount will appear on the IC’s 2024 1099. If a winning Independent Contractor elects to have the $18,750 spread across several weeks of making the tractor lease payment, we will also accommodate that request.
$10,000 net (after tax deductions) prize to be awarded to one (1) EDP that refers, and Wilson certifies, as a new or rehired A seat driver during the contest period. The EDP with the third highest number of accumulated points during the contest period, at or above a minimum number of one (1) will be awarded the third-place prize. An Independent Contractor awarded this prize level will receive a gross payout amount of $10,000 X 1.25 or $12,500. This gross amount will appear on the IC’s 2024 1099. If a winning Independent Contractor elects to have the $12,500 spread across several weeks of making the tractor lease payment, we will also accommodate that request.
For every single driver, A Seat or rehire driver that an EDP refers, and Wilson certifies to drive during the contest period, the EDP will receive one (1) point during the contest period. For every A seat team referred and certified by Wilson to drive during the contest period, the EDP will receive 1.5 points during the contest period.
The contest period starts at 12:01 (AM) on Monday, August 12th, 2024 (Central Time Zone) and ends at 11:59 (PM) on Sunday, December 15, 2024, (Central Time Zone). Referrals received before the contest period starts will remain eligible, as long as the certified A Seat or rehire takes at least one dispatch between the contest period start and end dates/times. This contest period includes one-hundred and twenty-six (126) days.
The applicant must list the first and last name of the referring EDP on their initial full application only, or personally talk to Chris Hilles and/or Lisa Leach (Wilson) in recruiting with the name of the referral prior to another EDP taking credit for the referral. Emailing, texting or otherwise messaging Chris or Lisa will not count. Chris or Lisa must log your live call of the referred driver applicant with the exact date and time in our system (TenStreet) or count on the initial full application being received in our system (TenStreet) to date/time stamp when the referral was received. Voice messages, texts, OmniTracs, Samsara, email or other electronically relayed messages will not count as a verified referral.
Referrals for students or any driver other than an A Seat or Rehire certified for joining the Advance Fleet, are not eligible toward accumulated points. Applicants referred to drive in the dedicated (including KRAFT, Lactalis, Buckhorn & T&W, or any other dedicated or regional accounts), regional, CDL Pad trainers, examiners, shuttle drivers, mechanics, technicians and casual drivers with CDL certification are not eligible toward accumulated points. Again, this program is only intended to reward revenue producing drivers in the Wilson fleet.
Applicants referred by an EDP, who enter the Wilson Commercial Learners Permit (CLP) program with the intention of obtaining their CDL, on or prior to December 16, 2024, will not be eligible referrals for this contest, unless they previously completed twelve (12) consecutive months of driving service with Wilson and considered an eligible rehire to Wilson. Applicants having completed their CDL with Wilson Logistics are not considered eligible referrals if hired/certified to drive for Wilson unless they completed twelve (12) consecutive months of driving service within the Wilson Advance fleet.
Applicants entering the Wilson driving/certification program, who already possess a valid CDL, are not eligible referrals toward accumulated point totals. This program is only intended to award prizes to EDP’s that refer, and that Wilson certifies, to drive in the Wilson advance fleet program. Company and Independent Contractors in the Wilson advance fleet program on the final day of the contest and have validated accumulated points between August 12th, 2024, and December 15th, 2024, are considered EDP’s.
Prize winners will be declared and announced by 5:00PM (Central Time Zone) on Monday, December 16th, 2024. Prize winners will be paid via check or direct deposit no later than Monday December 23rd, 2024
The contest period is 126 days in length. 75% of 126 is a minimum of 94 total days in the 126-day contest period that contestants must have been available to work in the Wilson Advanced Fleet or 75% of their work schedule if assigned to the dedicated or regional fleet.
Yes. But only for drivers they refer that join the Wilson advance fleet for the entire contest period.
We know from experience that our best drivers come from Wilson drivers that refer their friends, families and good, safe CDL drivers. We would much rather give that money to our own drivers than a third-party advertising agency or recruiting source
Yes. For every student you refer, and we qualify to enter our CLP program, the EDP will receive $1,000. For every A Seat/Rehire every EDP refers, and Wilson certifies, we will pay $2,000. Those incentives are in addition to this defined contest period. The change is that we will pay the referral incentive all at once vs. spread over time.
Effective August 12, 2024, any new referral will pay the $1,000 or $2,000 referral bonus in full, at the first available payroll/settlement date following the payroll cutoff date.
Yes. Those have been determined and calculated will be paid on the payroll/settlement distribution on or before Friday, August 16th, 2024.
Your check or direct deposit will be for $25,000 and the gross amount will be increased and include your elected deductions so that the net check is $25,000. The same formula will apply for all three prize categories.
No. Your amount awarded will be multiplied by 1.25 and reflect the full amount paid on your 2024 1099. The same formula will apply for all three prize categories.
All ties will be broken based on the number of total days (out of the 126 in the contest period) that you were available for load assignment/dispatch. If two or more drivers accumulate the same number of points, the driver with the highest number of days available out of 126 will be named the winner. Second and subsequent tied winners will be awarded the second or third place prizes.
Chris Hilles and/or Lisa leach (Wilson) are the official record keepers, and it is up to the EDP to make sure they contact Chris or Lisa live in person or live by phone to validate each referral with their matched EDP.
No. The intent of this program is to recruit additional experienced A Seat and rehire drivers before the end of the year. Student referrals will not add to the accumulated points for this program.
No. Remember that the intent is to increase the number of experienced drivers with a minimum of 12 months recent verifiable experience.
Yes. Provided the EDP that wins, remains a certified driver on the date the contest prizes are awarded (December 23, 2024).
No. You must be certified to drive and remain certified to drive in the Wilson Fleet as an EDP on the payout date of December 23rd, 2024.
